The future of hiring is both interviewless and more human. The onset of the skills-based hiring global phenomenon has changed the way that humans are evaluated for jobs. Suddenly opportunities exist to hire from a wider and more diverse candidate pool with less bias and greater fairness. Measuring soft skills, rather than a degree or on-the-job experience, levels the playing field. More important is the idea that humans are complex, and can’t be properly evaluated on pieces of paper, a multiple-choice questionnaire, or even an interview.
"We are uniquely positioned to be a catalyst in the skills-first talent movement with our award-winning Soft Skills AI. The future of hiring starts with skills measurement and we plan to be at the forefront of this paradigm shift as we scale,” said our CEO in a recent press release announcing $5M in funding.
We sat down with HiringBranch CEO, Stephane Rivard, to pick up where the conversation left off and ask him - “Why HiringBranch and why now?” Hear what he had to say in the video interview and check out the full transcript below.
Interview Transcript
00:00 “Why HiringBranch and why now? That is a great question. I think about this a lot. Why do we want to replace the interview when we’re talking about chatbots replacing the human? I think it’s a really exciting time about rethinking the role of the human and the importance of the human.”
00:16 “And you really got to think about this differently. Humans are not pieces of paper. They’re not multiple choice questions. Humans are diverse and you need to put them in a situation where you can evaluate who they are.”
00:27 “Unfortunately there is no easy way through an interview process or through a multiple choice assessment to figure out who can really perform. The fascinating thing about unlocking soft skills is that you’re unlocking a workforce that you didn’t realize you had.”
00:40 “And what companies really want to know nowadays is if employees have the skills that are really driving performance. At HiringBranch we’re very proud of the fact that we’ve developed the first Soft Skills AI. Soft Skills AI is really a powerful tool for organizations. It really figures out what kind of candidates can drive success for your organization and help you meet your objectives.
01:01 “I think what I’m probably most proud and most surprised about is how our technology and using a soft skills first approach has really transformed organizations. But I think more importantly it also helps those employees and candidates reach their maximum potential. It allows that human to improve their skills and upskill, and greatly contribute to the well being of the world. I really believe in this.”
