Product Release: Introducing Open-Ended Chat Simulation Assessments

    Our belief is simple: the best way to assess whether a candidate is a good fit is by letting them do the job before they’re hired. By leveraging realistic job tasks and scenarios here at HiringBranch, we’re able to do just that. Why would anyone try to predict success when they can measure it?

    Pushing The Boundary: Chat Simulation

    We recently announced fully open-ended assessments, which greatly increase the accuracy of a candidate’s skill measurement. Compared to multiple-choice questions—which is the legacy industry standard, we achieve up to 1,000 times more data points with the help of AI.

    We’ve applied this open-ended technology to a new form factor that is more engaging and intuitive for candidates. It increases the realism of the job preview experience, resulting in better outcomes for recruitment teams.

    Today we’re announcing the world’s first open-ended response chat simulation that measures 50+ dimensions of a candidate’s soft skills and critical thinking abilities.

    How Open-Ended Chat Simulation Works

    Our chat module can be used independently or with other assessment formats, including email and voice. Each module allows for precise customization: skills can be emphasized or de-emphasized, and scoring can be weighted to match specific role requirements.

    Example Chat Scenario

    Imagine creating a short preview of the job you’re hiring for in a chat simulation. The engagement may look something like this:

    Simulated customer prompt: 

    Customer: “Hi, I’m having trouble logging into my account. Every time I enter my credentials, the page just refreshes without any error message. Can you help?”

    Possible open-ended candidate response:

    Candidate: “I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble logging into your account. I’m happy to help get in. Can you give me your email?”

    These scenarios test candidates’ problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and adaptability in multifaceted situations.     Chat Simulation: What Are Customers Saying?

    With chat simulation, not only do recruiters get a much clearer picture of a candidate’s abilities, but the candidates also get a preview of the job, which can have a meaningful impact on reducing missed hires due to misaligned expectations.
